The Way We Live Now and the Way We Will Live Tomorrow, Canberra

The Menzies Research Centre hosted a series of Policy Roundtables examining key challenges facing Australia. The series was commissioned by Hon Tony Abbott MHR as part of the Coalition’s policy consultation and development process. The first in the series, the Way We Live Now and the Way We Will Live Tomorrow, set the scene for the following series and focused on the strengths and weaknesses of the Australian economy, the impacts of demographic change in Australia and our region, and ways to capitalise on science and innovation to increase our living standards. Speakers included the Hon Tony Abbott MHR, Saul Eslake, Mark Thirlwell, Hon Joe Hockey MP, Bernard Salt, Helen James, Geoff Pollard AM, Hon Julie Bishop MP, Dr Cathy Foley PSM, Dr James Bradfield Moody, Dr Thomas Barlow, Hon Tony Smith MP, Hon Andrew Robb AO, MP, Tom Harley, Julian Leeser.
